I'm away from my studio at the moment and am unable to scan the painting in so instead I've taken a photo of it.
I believe that courage is relative to the degree of fear that someone faces. What is home and familar to one person is a place of possibly immense and unknown dangers to the next person. If we project what we think is safe onto someone else's idea of what is dangerous we immediately label them fearful but the truth is the caution that the person is taking as they face their fear is truly a demonstration of their courage.

Retrospect Galleries Flyer

A bit of a mile stone in my illustrating career has happened just recently. I currently have my first 4 illustrations all framed up and for sale at Retrospect Galleries in Byron Bay Australia.

I was blessed enough to have a random conversation with Bree who owns and runs the gallery and a month or so later I got to see my pictures with their spiffy new frames and we chatted $$ and it is all very exciting.

Above is a flyer for an exhibition coming up at the art gallery, anyone who finds themself in Byron from July 24th til August 13th should pop in for a lookski. It'll have a bunch of stuff from known and unknown creators.

Cool things are happening.

So I've been playing around with the digital side of things. I dig (... dig... digital... naaah!) this guy. Big, powerful, curious and maybe a little afraid of this tiny frail flower.

Its an old illustration concept I drew yeeeeaaaars ago that I thought might look cool like this.

I really like it.

This was used in an article about, "Couch Potatoes". The idea is the tv is shining the bars of a prison across the lazy dude. Trapped by our own desires kinda thing. I'm like thoooo contheptual!

Ok so not everyone gets that he's searching for his magicians bunny. I like this one because for about 3 years I would always see this kind of rock on the beach that I thought would work as a painting medium. So I crushed one up (years later) and made made this. Its made of just the rock crushed, water and pen for the line work. Going to do it again one day, in another 3years.

At first I thought this guy was up on his roof every night waiting for something but I just decided that he's up on his roof on the exact night he needs to be up on his roof, ready to go.

Freedom of speech

This was for an article about freedom of speech but a deeper feeling came into the outcome as I was drawing it. You see I have this thing for edges. Its almost an obsessive compulsive desire but I have to stand near an edge when there is an edge near by to stand on... don't know why. Psychological evalutations wecome.

I really love the colour blue. I also love gliding my hand along the current of air that flies past the passenger window of a car, that almost convulsive shiver I get when someone gently traces their finger up the back of my neck, picking mooshed up twisties out of my molars with my tongue and freeing up a big chunkagunk to chew on, resting my arm ever so slightly against my dates arm in a movie theatre to see if she pulls away or not... and she doesn't.
I love all those things very much but the thing I love most of all is... actually howzabout I just show you...
